Mazzola Elected SMCM President
Interdisciplinary Program in Collaborative Arts faculty, Guerino Mazzola has been elected president of the SMCM (Society for Mathematics and Computation in Music).
The Society, founded in 2006 as an International Forum for researchers and musicians working in the trans disciplinary field between music, mathematics and computation. The SMCM is registered in the USA. The Foundation of this Society on behalf of the Editorial Board of the new Journal of Mathematics and Music is the result of a long communication process between researchers in the trans disciplinary field between mathematics, informatics, music theory, composition, musicology and other disciplines.

Congratulations to Assistant Professor Michael J. Sommers! He was awarded the 2007 United States Artists (USA) Ford Fellowship.
